One of the objectives of our initiative, is building awareness in terms of pollution, waste management and hygiene among various cross sections of the society. We have visited educational institutions, worked with local administration and involved women's groups to promote and uphold values based on a clean and garbage free society. Garbage Management Education

Working with municipal bodies


We regularly engage with municipal bodies to ensure garbage segregation practices are adhered to as per the law.  Photo : CCI members with the District commissioner who shared our passion and urgency on the garbage problem in Coorg. 

Gonikoppal Panchayat Garbage truck caught dumping garbage into the water bodies

Gonikoppal is one of  worst kept towns of Coorg. Around Feb 2018, Gonikoppal Panchayat garbage truck was caught red handed dumping garbage into the water bodies. Normally they do it in the night. These water bodies are the main catchment channels of river Lakshmanatheertha. While people of Coorg are fighting with external forces to stop railways and tourist  littering, this is what is happening in-house.  

Garbage management supported by Clean Coorg initiative: Mar 8 2018

In a move to spread awareness of the growing problem of waste and on how to manage it, the Devaiah Memorial Prep School , Bittangala supported by the CCI, performed a Garbology skit in two government schools.

Womens welfare programs: March 2, 2018

 Our brave and highly motivated volunteers are  reaching out to various women's groups, young mothers, girls and  other women's welfare organizations to bring about awareness of  sanitation, health and cleanliness through lifestyle changes.  

Meeting with the DC: Feb 26, 2018

Our volunteers were invited for the first executive meeting with the DC to brainstorm on various methodologies towards plastic ban in the district.

Murnad Town School Awareness March : Jan 18, 2018

Marched through Murnad town with private schools holding hands with government schools. Cleaning and spreading awareness.
